NFIB Victories in Nebraska

  • May 18, 2011

During the 2011 legislative session, NFIB/Nebraska helped:

    • Pass a two-year state budget without a tax increase.
    • Extend the Property Tax Credit program, which provides $110 million in direct credits to property taxpayers.
      • Stop efforts to expand the services tax.
      • Reduce hospital reimbursements for workers' comp, which will directly benefit self-insured employers and indirectly affect the workers’ compensation premiums of all other employers.
      • Defeat workers' comp benefit increase.
      • Turned back efforts to expand health insurance mandates that would have raised the cost of health insurance and made it harder for employers to provide basic coverage for their employees and their families.
