Small Biz Needs Your Vote in Virginia

Date: May 19, 2015

With the elections coming up in Richmond, State Director Nicole Riley discusses the importance of having pro-small business candidates in office.

Dear NFIB/Virginia Members,

As I write this, spring has arrived, students are getting ready for summer and here at NFIB/Virginia we are focusing on the upcoming 2015 legislative elections.

All 140 members of the General Assembly are up for reelection this November. It’s critical we strengthen our small business representation in Richmond. Today, our allies in the Senate hold a one-seat advantage!

This year alone, we saw an unprecedented number of bad, anti-business legislation introduced and supported by Governor McAuliffe. It was only because we had built a strong coalition of small business advocates in the state legislature that we were able to defeat these harmful proposals.

You can help determine, through your involvement and financial support of NFIB/Virginia’s political activities, whether our allies win or lose in the upcoming state elections and who will control and wield power over your business.

Tuesday, June 9 is Primary Day in Virginia. Several of our endorsed candidates are fighting their nomination so don’t forget to go out and VOTE on Tuesday, June 9! You can find our list of endorsed candidates for the June primary at www.NFIB.com/Virginia.

We face a huge task if we are going to successfully elect dozens of incumbent and challenger candidates whose votes will create a stronger pro-small business climate. If you’re interested in getting involved in this year’s elections, please contact Nicole Riley, Virginia State Director, at 804-377-3661 or [email protected].

Regards,
Nicole Riley
NFIB/Virginia State Director
