Small Businesses Applaud Compromise Effort to Lower Property Taxes in Colorado

DENVER (Aug. 16, 2024) – Following Governor Jared Polis’ call for a special session to address property taxes, NFIB State Director Tony Gagliardi issued the following statement in support of the compromise agreement. “For far too long, Coloradans have watched their property taxes skyrocket. These increases, on top of rising inflation, are unsustainable for hardworking families and job creators alike. By cutting property taxes and lowering state spending, this compromise agreement will give small business owners greater predictability in the property tax system while providing needed relief. This is an important first step to reining in Colorado’s property taxes.”
