About the Elections Center
Pro-small business policy starts with electing pro-small business candidates. NFIB’s political team is constantly monitoring and engaging with campaigns across the country to help elect those who will be the best advocates for our members. Visit the Take Action on Elections page for updates on the latest election resources and news you need to be the Voice of Small Business.
Voter Education
Educating small business owners and their employees throughout the election cycle is one of the NFIB political team’s top priorities. NFIB works to cut through the noise by educating and activating small business owners and employees with timely, non-partisan, and accurate voter information. We provide a comprehensive series of direct voter communications to our members to help you identify, engage, and vote for, candidates who support NFIB policy priorities on the federal and state levels.
Voter Registration and Ways to Vote
NFIB understands that running a business is demanding and can limit business owners’ involvement in politics. That is why NFIB emphasizes helping business owners register to vote or confirm their voter registration information before each election. Where available, making the most of early voting or absentee voting can also be incredibly helpful for business owners and employees to make the Voice of Small Business heard in each election – without being limited to voting on Election Day.
Grassroots Mobilization
Since its founding in 1943, NFIB has been a grassroots driven organization. We continue to believe that the power of individual members coming together has the greatest impact. NFIB facilitates grassroots mobilization in key races through get-out-the-vote member communications, coordinating volunteer opportunities with endorsed candidates, and deploying NFIB staff to work directly with membersleading up to Election Day.
Media Campaigns
Small businesses are the foundation of our economy, and NFIB recognizes that priority races require usto extend our political advocacy to much larger audiences through media campaigns. We have extensive experience with reaching like-minded voters through digital, radio, and print media.
