QUINTON, OK (June 1, 2026) – In a new video, NFIB member and Oklahoma small business owner Nicole Sustaire warns that if State Question 832 is approved by the voters, she and other Main Street Oklahomans will have to raise their prices.

“If the minimum wage went up, the first change I would have to make is to raise the prices of everything. You can raise the prices, but if nobody’s coming in to pay at higher prices, it’s not going to do any good. It will come to the point where people can’t afford to eat out as much or do anything like that. I mean, you’re going to sink all these little towns that are trying to employ people. They’re never going to even get a chance to open. They’re never going to make it.”

“It’s not just a $15 an hour. You still have extra payroll taxes, too, on top of that. It’s going to turn out to be more like 16, $17 an hour by the time you’re done. It is a big mistake to raise the minimum wage.”
