JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Sept. 15, 2022)The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, awarded Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer with the Guardian of Small Business Award, NFIB’s most prestigious legislative recognition. “Ranking Member Luetkemeyer has been a reliable leader for small businesses on the House Small Business Committee,” said Brad Jones, NFIB Missouri State Director. “He has voted consistently with small businesses, earning a 100% NFIB voting record for the 117th Congress, and has prioritized small business issues. Rep. Luetkemeyer has supported policies that grow the economy and has opposed legislation that would add burdensome mandates and increase taxes on small businesses that would deter the small business economy. We are proud to name him a Guardian of Small Business.” “Small businesses are truly the backbone of this economy,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer. “Over the past two years, Main Street USA has faced some of the toughest of challenges. Whether it’s emerging from a global pandemic or tough economic headwinds, small business owners have shown their grit and determination to continue to support their employees and their communities. As Ranking Member of the House Small Business Committee, I am proud to be named a Guardian of Small Business by NFIB. Our Members championed small business policy to support innovation, opposed tax increases and burdensome mandates, and provided relief to recovering entrepreneurs. I will continue to advance the needs of American small businesses and entrepreneurs alongside my determined colleagues.” “The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Members of Congress who have proven themselves to be real champions of small business,” said Brad Close, NFIB President and CEO. “As a leader on the House Small Business Committee, Ranking Member Luetkemeyer has been a strong advocate for Missouri’s small businesses and is a true Guardian of Small Business.” Find a complete list of the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award recipients from the 117th Congress, please click here.
