NFIB Helps Commemorate Small Business Day in SC

Date: April 30, 2024

The event helped amplify the voice of Main Street South Carolina

NFIB joined with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and other organizations today to mark Small Business Day in Columbia.

Small business owners from throughout the state converged on the South Carolina State House to hear from Gov. Henry McMaster and other leaders about the issues affecting Main Street businesses.

“Small businesses are the driving force behind our record-breaking economy, creating opportunity and economic progress statewide,” the governor said.

NFIB State Director Ben Homeyer led a panel discussion with members of the House and Senate.

Issues included the bundle of bills dubbed the Small Business Bill of Rights, which includes legislation that would streamline the state licensing process, crack down on organized retail theft, and stop lawsuit abuse.

“This was a great opportunity for our small business members to come to Columbia, hear from our elected leaders, and speak out about the issues that are critically important to Main Street businesses,” Homeyer said.
