OLYMPIA, Wash., Oct. 2, 2018—NFIB Washington PAC, the political arm of the state’s leading small-business association, today announced its final round of endorsements for the Washington State Legislature with the naming of nine candidates running in open seats.
“To be eligible for endorsement, candidates had to demonstrate strong support for small business on key policy issues,” said Patrick Connor, NFIB’s Washington state director. “They also had to have an effective campaign operation making them competitive in the General Election as evidenced by completed candidate questionnaires, Primary Election results, and fundraising activity.”
The final round of endorsements was made by NFIB Washington PAC after a recent meeting in Spokane. Prior to the Primary Election, it had endorsed 21 incumbents running for re-election, one state representative running for a senate seat, and an NFIB Leadership Council member running in open house seat. Those endorsements were based on votes cast on 10 vital issues during the 2017-2018 session of the Washington State Legislature. A record of at least 90 percent was required for endorsement. One endorsee lost in the Primary Election.
