Challenges Facing NFIB/Oklahoma
- Support for business affected by the tornadoes: NFIB/Oklahoma will work to ensure that the Legislature provides the support small businesses need to rebuild and reopen as quickly as possible.
- Unemployment: Recent changes to our unemployment laws have been a good start, but more needs to be done. NFIB will fight to bring more clarity and common sense to our unemployment laws.
- Stopping new taxes on services and labor: Legislators in both the House and Senate have suggested new sales taxes on services and labor as a new source of state revenue. NFIB has vigorously and actively opposed all efforts to place new sales taxes on services and labor.
- Regulatory expansion: We will vigorously fight new regulations that levy fines on small business, especially those that penalize for non-harmful or clerical errors. In a tough economy, government agencies look for ways to raise their revenue. We will make sure small businesses are not seen merely as a revenue source.
