Washington, D.C. (November 29, 2016) – The National Federation of
Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading advocate for small
business owners, today endorsed State
Treasurer John Kennedy for U.S. Senate in Louisiana.
“Small business owners in Louisiana trust John
Kennedy to be their voice in the U.S. Senate,” said NFIB President and CEO
Juanita Duggan. “Small businesses need relief from high taxes and excessive
government regulation. Kennedy’s views on the key issues align with our
members’ priorities, and he will be a strong advocate for small business owners
in the United States Senate.”
“As State Treasurer, John Kennedy made sure
that the public funds were wisely managed,” said NFIB Louisiana State Director Dawn Starns. “That’s the sensibility
that small business owners want to see brought to Washington. Kennedy participated
in our candidate’s forum this summer and demonstrated a great understanding of
what small businesses need to succeed. We hope to see him serving in the U.S.
Senate next year.”
Kennedy’s endorsement today comes from
the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee. According
to the U.S. Small Business Administration, more than 97 percent of employers in
Louisiana are small. The Louisiana runoff election will be held December 10.
