SMALL BUSINESS BESTOWS DECOSTE WITH GUARDIAN AWARD
NORWELL (August 24, 2016): The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the state’s leading small-business association, presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to Representative David F. DeCoste this afternoon in Hanover.
“Being raised in a small business household has allowed Representative DeCoste to have unique insight into the challenges that many of our members face. He has served as a true champion for the small business community in Massachusetts,” according to Bill Vernon, NFIB Massachusetts state director. “Mr. DeCoste knows all too well that in order for small business to prosper in our state, regulations and taxes must be reduced to create a sound fiscal environment.”
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. In order to receive the honor, lawmakers must score a 100% on the legislative voting record tracked by NFIB each year.
“Many politicians campaign promising our members that they will advocate on their behalves but it is a rare find when a legislator diligently works to fulfill their commitments. Representative DeCoste has never backed away from doing exactly as promised and for that reason it is a true honor to have presented the Guardian award today,” concluded Vernon.
