NFIB Endorses Bill Bryant for Governor

Date: July 28, 2016

OLYMPIA, Wash., July 28, 2016—The political action committee for Washington state’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its pre-primary endorsement of Bill Bryant for governor.
“His experience building and assisting companies on both sides of the Cascades stands out as Bill Bryant’s best qualification with our small-business-owning members,” said NFIB State Director Patrick Connor, speaking for NFIB/Washington SAFE Trust, which made the endorsement. “His knowledge of agricultural trade issues combined with his success as a local elected official are additional assets for the job. In short, NFIB members are looking for a candidate who will know instinctively how a tax or regulation will harm job-creation, and they have found him in Bill Bryant.”
The endorsement of Bryant was based on an interview and his answers on a questionnaire. To date, NFIB/Washington SAFE Trust has endorsed 10 senators and 38 representatives seeking re-election, three state representatives running for open Senate seats, two challengers to current House members, and five candidates running for open House seats.
“When entrepreneurs in this state succeed, it’s despite government’s dictates, rather than because of its assistance. Bill Bryant recognizes this,” added Connor. “During his first term as governor, Jay Inslee has championed several legislative, regulatory, and ballot-measure issues that were an anathema to small business and the state’s economic climate. Not surprisingly, small-business owners are looking for a new governor who will help, not hinder, their efforts to create jobs and spread opportunity across our state.”
