The Daily Record reported this week that the fate of HB1, mandated paid leave, is still undecided. Currently, the bill sits on Governor Larry Hogan’s Desk waiting for him to either veto it or sign it into law. The bill mandates that employers provide a leave benefit to their employees.

NFIB has encouraged Governor Hogan to veto the bill which dictates how and when an employer must provide leave. It will have a chilling effect on an employer’s ability to provide the much needed flexibility their employees depend on when needing to take leave from work.

Call Governor Hogan TODAY and urge him to veto HB1:

Please also ask anyone you know who owns or works for a small business to sign the petition. It’s important that we collect as many signatures as possible. Thank you to everyone who has already taken action!
