SUNUNU HITS ALL THE RIGHT POINTS FOR SMALL BUSINESS IN INAUGURAL ADDRESS

CONCORD (January 5, 2017): In response to Governor Sununu’s
Inaugural address this afternoon, the following statement may be attributed to
the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) New Hampshire state
director, Bruce Berke:

The Governor laid a strong foundation today for his first
year in office. He made it abundantly clear that the priorities of the small
business community are similar to that of his administration. Bringing
high-quality jobs to New Hampshire, increasing the opportunity for those that
are already here and ensuring that our state budget is fiscally responsible
will no doubt entice outside companies to relocate here while emboldening
existing small business owners to expand.

Our newly inaugurated Governor campaigned on making New
Hampshire a right to work state, and that certainly helped him garner the
support of many in the small business community. To hear him prioritize today
in his inaugural speech shows that he will focus on executing everything that
he outlined while on the trail.

Ensuring that no sales or income tax will be acceptable
to him while focusing on reducing regulations that are often cumbersome for
small business owners, will guarantee that New Hampshire will be open for
business for many years to come.
