SMALL BUSINESS APPLAUDS HOUSE LEADERSHIP PROPOSAL

Date: February 23, 2017

HARTFORD (February 23, 2017): In response to this morning’s press conference regarding assisting the small businesses community to grow and prosper, the following statement may be attributed to NFIB Connecticut State Director, Andrew Markowski:

When the House Speaker, House Majority Leader, and House Chair of the Commerce Committee are all gathering to support the small business community, everyone wins. Making Connecticut more affordable for small employers will allow for job growth and economic prosperity, something desperately needed in our state.

Representatives Aresimowicz, Ritter and Simmons showed today that they are willing to provide our members with the tools they need to achieve success. We sincerely appreciate their efforts as well as their willingness to focus on small business growth. Promoting bills like those in front of the Commerce Committee today is a surefire way to bolster confidence in our economy. It’s unfortunate that instead of being able to remain focused on the positive, we must weigh today’s proposals with others that will deter growth.
