On November 10, the Labor Standards division of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment adopted new minimum-wage rates for 2015. The implementation of Senate Bill 5, passed this year, allowed it to increase the rates starting January 1.
The new hourly rate will be $8.23, and $5.21 for tipped employees. NFIB lobbied hard against the passage of SB 5, because of its exposed risk to employers and additional record keeping. It’s recommended that members acquaint themselves with the new rules, which can be read here.
