Following the recent passing of longtime State Representative Larry Miller (R-Stratford), a writ of special election has been issued by the Governor to fill this vacant seat in the state house. A special election is scheduled for Tuesday July 22nd for voters in the 122nd Assembly District, which covers parts of the towns of Stratford, Shelton and Trumbull. The winner of this special election will serve in the General Assembly until January, but will also have run again for a full two-year term in the November general election. Voters in the district will have a choice between two Shelton residents. The Democratic nominee is Arlene Liscinsky, a member of the Board of Education. The Republican nominee is Ben McGorty, a Realtor and member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. Polls in the district will be open from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm on July 22nd
