Small Business Backs Young to Take 3rd Congressional District Seat

Des Moines (October 24, 2014) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today announced its support for David Young in his bid to represent Iowa’s 3rdh Congressional District in Washington.

“He’s been working these issues for many years as a former aide to Senator Charles Grassley and his positions on the issues align very closely with our members,” said NFIB/Iowa State Director Kristin Failor.

Young is running for the open seat against former Iowa State Senator Staci Appel. In Des Moines, she routinely voted against the interests of small business owners.

“For small business owners in Iowa there is really only one choice in this election,” said NFIB Vice President Lisa Goeas.  “David Young will be there when our members need him and, based on her record, Staci Appel won’t.”

Young’s endorsement was made by the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee.  Surveys show that small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District will work hard this year to send David Young to Washington.
