NFIB members met with Congress last week to spur momentum on small biz-friendly legislative action.
A group of 150 small business owners spent last week on Capitol Hill with their representatives to discuss some issues affecting small business. Top-of-mind were: regulatory relief, taxes and, most importantly, the new IRS Obamacare penalty.
The Obamacare penalty, which went into effect July 1, imposes fees of up to $36,500 a year per employee for business owners that offer reimbursements to employee healthcare costs.
NFIB members met with lawmakers to make their case for legislation that would change the rule. The Council for Affordable Health Coverage and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have already begun meeting with relevant congressional committees to discuss legislative rollbacks on the rule, according to The Hill.
