The Georgia office of National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s leading small-business association, has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to state Rep. B.J. Pak (108th District).
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. The NFIB/Georgia Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to Peacock for supporting small-business issues in the Legislature.
Pak has been a reliable ally of small business since taking office in 2011, said Kyle Jackson, state director of NFIB/Georgia.
“Representative Pak is a true champion of small business,” Jackson said. “He was lead sponsor on legislation eliminating the estate estate, or ‘death’ tax, which has been one of our members’ top priorities. He was primary sponsor of civil justice reform legislation, and he supported a measure that would have provided needed clarity, predictability and limits on requests for electronic records.
“B.J. Pak understands the needs of local business and the necessity of reducing the government’s role in their lives and the importance business plays in creating jobs,” Jackson said.
“On behalf of all small businesses in Georgia, NFIB would like to thank Representative Pak for his hard work and dedication to our state’s entrepreneurs,” Jackson said.
NFIB has over 7,000 dues-paying members in Georgia, representing a cross section of the state’s economy.
