Reduced Electricity Costs For Small Businesses
NFIB helped fight to repeal Connecticut’s harmful production tax on
electricity generators, which will save small businesses each month on their
electric bill. After already paying some
of the highest electric rates in the nation, Connecticut passed a one-of-a-kind
per megawatt production tax in 2011 on all electricity generated in the state. NFIB actively fought alongside a diverse
group of business interests and advocates, including producers and
manufacturers, to help permanently repeal this first-in-the-nation anti-business
tax that would constantly drive up the costs of electricity for small
businesses and residents in Connecticut.
