NFIB "Small Business Certified" Campaign Sweeps Away Politicians' Smoke and Mirrors

Date: September 17, 2014

Would your customers return if you gave them only one-third
of what they paid for? Of course not. You strive to give 100 percent-plus to
those who support your small business with their hard-earned dollars.

Would you re-elect a politician who voted favorably only 36
percent of the time for key small-business issues? Now running for re-election
is one U.S. senator who voted that way in the previous session of Congress, has
refused to cast even one favorable NFIB key vote so far in the 113th
Congress, and is actively pushing for a higher federal minimum wage. He’s also
a cheerleader for Obamacare, claiming: it “has been working to restrain health
care costs for consumers and small businesses alike.”

Senator 36 Percent hopes you’ll never see through this kind
of smoke and mirror campaign rhetoric:  “Our
future depends on finding solutions that get our federal spending and debt
under control… we need to promote local small businesses and foster innovation…
tax credits should go to middle class families and (his state’s) small
businesses…” and so on.

Yet this politician and many others have thumbed their noses
at small business for years. Now as the Nov. 4 election nears, they’re
pretending to be staunch supporters, arrogantly fudging the truth so voters
will send them back to Washington where they’ll quickly do an about-face and inflict
even more damage on our free enterprise system.

But NFIB’s “Vote for Main Street” campaign can help you
learn who’s been naughty and who’s been nice. For example, Senator 36 Percent
is facing a serious challenger who cast 100 percent favorable House of
Representative key small-business votes in both the 112th and 113th
Congresses. Guess who has earned our “Small Business Certified” endorsement?

NFIB members are fed up with false claims from bait-and-switch
candidates who promise to defend Main Street from mushrooming federal taxes,
unchecked spending and preposterous regulations but never intention to do so. “Vote
for Main Street” sweeps away such hypocrisy. It provides true facts about
candidates who honestly care about small business and vote accordingly.

Now you can learn precisely which candidates will support
you versus those who will betray your trust. The information to help you reach
those decisions, along with a comprehensive list of faithful small-business
candidates, awaits you at website: voteformainstreet.com.

The NFIB endorsement has three priorities: Challenge
anti-small-business incumbents, protect incumbents who are proven allies, and elect
pro-Main Street candidates in open seats. Endorsed candidates agree to help curb
EPA overreach, repeal Obamacare’s small-business health insurance tax, require
Congress to pass a balanced federal budget each fiscal year, demand the federal
government certify that Obamacare isn’t harming small businesses, and restore
the full-time work week definition to its traditional 40 hours.

Don’t be tricked by the smoke and mirror gang. On Nov. 4,
vote for honest, dependable friends of small business.
