NFIB Releases endorsements for Senate, State Assembly

Date: September 01, 2014

The National Federation of Independent Business, representing
thousands of small businesses in Maryland, recently endorsed 17 candidates for state Senate and 39 candidates for Assembly.

“Maryland is an extremely difficult place for
small businesses and it’s critical that we have better representation in
Annapolis,” said NFIB Regional Public Policy Director Tim Goodrich.  “Our members are highly engaged in the
election this year and we intend to make a difference.”

Goodrich called the slate of candidates
Maryland’s “Small Business Team” because of their support for lower taxes,
fewer regulations and a more competitive economic environment for small
businesses.

“Most of the employers in our state are small
business owners, but it’s hard to tell based on the policies that are coming
from Annapolis,” he said.  “The
candidates whom we are endorsing today all understand the need for better
policies.

 “Our small businesses must compete
regionally, nationally and internationally, and they can’t afford policies that
arbitrarily increase their costs or make it tougher to expand and create new
jobs.”
