LISTEN: NFIB Radio Ad Supports Tom Cotton for Senate

Date: September 09, 2014

NFIB today announced Tom Cotton as the first “Small Business Certified” candidate as part of its Vote for Main Street campaign. NFIB has begun airing radio and online advertising supporting Tom Cotton in his race to become Arkansas’ next United States Senator. Click here to listen to the radio ad.

NFIB also released a Tom Cotton candidate page on its National Election Center website where voters can find tools that make it easy to volunteer, donate and support Tom Cotton.

“From costly energy regulations and higher taxes to Obamacare and reckless spending, federal policies continue to punish small businesses,” said NFIB Vice President Lisa Goeas. “It’s our responsibility to get out and vote for candidates like Tom Cotton who will stand up for small businesses in Arkansas by supporting common-sense legislation in Washington.”

The website also features a video of Gina Martin, owner and operator of a bus tour company in Little Rock, who relates how Washington is making things harder for small businesses in Arkansas and why Tom Cotton is her choice for U.S. Senate.

“As a small business owner, it’s devastating to see the impact the increase in payroll taxes and new federal taxes and regulations are having on Arkansas businesses, employees and the economy,” Martin said. “Tom Cotton understands that these federal policies are preventing us from growing our businesses and killing jobs and he’s working to get us back to the America that is all about the land of opportunity.”

The Arkansas launch is the first candidate-specific campaign in NFIB’s broader program to elect “Small Business Certified” candidates in 2014. Throughout September, the NFIB will be rolling out similar campaigns to support candidates in battleground states.

“Talk is cheap, and it’s become clear that the NFIB’s 350,000 members are experiencing a crisis in confidence with their elected representatives in Washington,” said NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner. “We must elect candidates who have a strong track-record of supporting Main Street and will commit to enacting solutions that allow small businesses to do what they do best—create more jobs for hardworking Americans.”
