NFIB Endorses 99 Candidates in Legislative Primaries

Date: July 29, 2015

The National Federation of Independent Business, Mississippi’s leading small-business association, said today it has endorsed candidates in 99 legislative races.

NFIB has endorsed 32 candidates for seats in the state Senate and 67 candidates running for seats in the House of Representatives. Of the 99 candidates endorsed, 95 are incumbents.

The endorsements were made by the NFIB/Mississippi SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

“Our members support the candidates who support small business,” said Ron Aldridge, state director of NFIB/Mississippi. “These candidates have consistently voted to ease the burdens on Mississippi’s job creators or have pledged to support small business on issues affecting their ability to grow and create jobs.”

The NFIB/Mississippi SAFE Trust’s endorsement is critical to the candidates’ campaigns. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged it will activate its grassroots network on behalf of the campaign. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small-business issues.
