Michigan Small Business Mobilizes for Terri Lynn Land

National Federation of Independent Business launches
digital ads featuring real small business owners to explain why Michigan needs Terri
Lynn Land in the Senate

Michigan (September 25,
2014)
– The NFIB today launched a
digital ad campaign and online election center urging voters to support Terri
Lynn Land in her race to become Michigan’s next United States Senator.

“Small business owners are struggling to comply with costly new taxes and
energy regulations flowing out of Washington,” said Lisa Goeas, vice president with the NFIB, the nation’s
leading advocate for small business owners. “
Terri Lynn Land advocates for
fair federal policies and regulations that would give Michigan and all small
business the opportunity to grow and we need her strong voice in the Senate.”

In addition to the flight of
online ads, NFIB also released a Terri Lynn Land candidate webpage on its National Election Center website, where voters
can go to find tools that make it easy to volunteer, donate and support Terri
Lynn Land. The effort is part of the NFIB’s Vote for
Main Street
campaign.

“Terri Lynn Land comes from a
family of small business owners herself and understands the struggles that can
impede Main Street’s success,” said NFIB Michigan State Director Charles
Owens
. “I believe NFIB Michigan members, small business owners, and employees
across the country would greatly benefit by having Terri Lynn Land fight for
them in the Senate.”

The website also features a video of Tommy Brann, restaurant owner in Wyoming,
Michigan, who explains how Washington is making things harder for small
businesses in Michigan and why Terri Lynn Land is his choice for U.S. Senate.

“Federal regulations on small
businesses are out of control,” said Brann,
president of Brann’s Sizzlin’ Steaks
and Sports Grille. “Terri Lynn Land knows the ins and outs of running a
business and understands the real impact of these regulations, which makes her Michigan’s
most effective candidate for U.S. Senate.”

The Michigan launch is the seventh
candidate-specific campaign in NFIB’s broader program to elect “Small Business
Certified” candidates in 2014. Throughout September, the NFIB will be rolling
out similar campaigns to support candidates in battleground states.

“Terri Lynn Land is exactly
what Michigan small business owners and employees need,” said NFIB President
and CEO Dan Danner. “I have no doubt that she will stand up in Washington and
fight for policies that benefit the small business community, and that’s why
she has NFIB’s full support.”
