NFIB Backs Brown in Hot New Hampshire Senate Race

Date: September 29, 2014

Concord (September 29, 2014) – The
National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading
small-business association, today endorsed Scott Brown for U.S. Senate in
New Hampshire.

“Our members support the candidates who support small business,” said
Lisa Goeas, NFIB vice president for Political and Grassroots.
“Throughout
his career, Scott Brown has been a strong advocate for cutting taxes, reducing
government spending and making government more accountable. We need leaders
like him in the Senate.”

In
addition to today’s endorsement, NFIB launched a flight of radio and online ads
asking voters to support Brown in one of the most closely-watched races in the
country as control of the Senate hangs in the balance.  The effort is part
of the NFIB’s Vote
for Main Street
campaign.  Click

NFIB
also released a Scott
Brown candidate webpage
on its National Election Center
website, where voters can find tools that make it easy to volunteer, donate and
support Brown. The website also features a video of a New Hampshire small business owner, who explains how Washington
is making things harder for Main Street and why Scott Brown is his choice for
U.S. Senate.

“Scott Brown provides an exciting opportunity for New
Hampshire to have a US Senator with a proven track record on small business
issues,” said NFIB member Bill Taranovich. “Brown’s experience
supporting small businesses gives him first-hand knowledge of the challenges
America’s entrepreneurs are suffering at the hands of a big government. He’s a
real fighter and our members will very much appreciate his leadership in
Washington.”

NFIB is the country’s leading advocate for small
business owners representing roughly 1,500 members in New Hampshire.
The group endorses candidates based on their voting record on key issues
identified by its members such as health care, taxes, labor and regulatory
issues.  NFIB tracks votes at the state and federal levels. Prior to
serving in Congress, Brown was a supporter of NFIB’s priorities in the
Massachusetts state legislature, where he earned a 100 percent NFIB/MA lifetime
record.

Brown’s endorsement
was made by the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee.
Surveys show that small business owners are influential in their
communities and NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the
small-business vote for Scott Brown on Election Day.
