Minimum Wage Hearings Start October 8

Date: October 07, 2014

As required by state law, Nebraska’s secretary of state has scheduled public hearings in each of the three congressional districts on the ballot proposal to raise the minimum wage.

In announcing the hearings, Secretary of State John Gale indicated that “the purpose of these hearings is to allow those in favor and those opposed to give testimony, giving voters an opportunity to learn more about Initiative Measure 425.”

NFIB members are encouraged to consider testifying on the ballot initiative. The hearings, which commence at 6:30 p.m., will be held at the following locations:

  • October 8, College Park of Grand Island, Theater Room, 3180 West US 34, Grand Island
  • October 15, Omaha Public Schools Administration Building, Board Room, 3215 Cuming Street, Omaha
  • October 21, State Capital Building, Room 1507, 1445 K Street, Lincoln
