Maryland SHOP Exchange Coverage Available for Small Business Owners

Date: December 01, 2015

As Open Enrollment for Maryland’s state-based SHOP Exchange continues, small business owners can still register for health insurance.

“Unlike the exchange’s individual plans, there is not a set enrollment period,” according to the Baltimore Business Journal. “Businesses can move to the employee choice program or sign up for tax credits anytime throughout the year, though it would make the most sense to make the change when their current health plan expires.”

Small businesses with 25 or fewer employees can qualify for a 2-year tax credit.
