Candidates Endorsed by NFIB Win Primary Races

Date: May 14, 2014

U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito won 87% of the vote in the May 13 Republican primary and will square off against Democratic nominee Natalie Tennant to replace Jay Rockefeller in the U.S. Senate, according to unofficial results posted by the Secretary of State’s office.

Capito has been endorsed by NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee.

The SAFE Trust also has endorsed David McKinley in the 1st District congressional race and Evan Jenkins in the 3rd District. Neither candidate was opposed in the Republican primary.

McKinley will face Democratic State Auditor Glen B. Gainer III in the general election, while Jenkins is hoping to unseat 37-year incumbent Rep. Nick Rahall.
