Ohio business owners are optimistic about the next six months, but not enough to vastly increase hiring, according to a new economic outlook survey.
According to a PNC survey of 2,000 small and medium-sized businesses from January to March, half expect higher profits in 2015. Despite that, only 10 percent plan to hire more workers this year. The survey found that small business owners reported the highest optimism in the survey’s six years.
In particular, Ohio manufacturers are very optimistic according to PNC economist Mekael Teshome.
Another bright spot: 52 percent expect to benefit from lower energy prices.
