The latest small business new from your state director, Laurie Ehlbeck.
As NFIB/NJ continues to closely monitor the State budget process, we also recently hosted Small Business Day.
On Tuesday May 5, at the historic state capitol building in Trenton, members from across the state gathered to show the strength of small business owners in New Jersey.
The event kicked off with keynote speaker, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, who is known for being a champion for small business. “Every day you in this room and millions like you work to grow your businesses and create 21st century jobs,” said Acting Governor Guadagno. “And I can promise you that, every day that I am in office, I will work to make your life easier, to make New Jersey a more welcoming home for residents and businesses of all sizes, and to get government out of your way.”
NFIB Media Manager, Toni Angelini moderated a lively media panel with Bill Spadea of My9NJ.com, and Jack Mozloom, NFIB Media Communications Director. Attendees also heard from Jonathan Williams, director of the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), where he works with state legislators and the private sector to develop free-market fiscal policy in the states.
Thank you to Lt. Governor Guadagno, Bill Spadea, Jonathan Williams and Jack Mozloom for speaking and to everyone who attended! We’re looking forward to making next year’s event bigger and better!
