A Letter from Your NFIB Michigan State Director

You may not know it from the way the news gets reported, but a great year is shaping up for small business in Michigan!
From the ashes of the road funding debacle in lame duck session last year, comes the opportunity to move forward with a new road funding proposal that makes better use of current state resources and avoids doubling the tax on gas at the pump. The path to this approach will be cleared when the voters decide on the sales tax increase ballot proposal in May of this year. Our members have already made it clear to us that they do not support this road funding proposal and, while no one has a “crystal ball”, all indications are that this ballot proposal will not pass. NFIB will be working to be sure that small business interests prevail in the debate over how we fund our roads in 2015 when the voters decide in May.
So what else is going on? Take a look at our Main Street Agenda for 2015! Prevailing Wage Repeal, reining in local government micromanagement of your business and more is on the horizon. Michigan has come so far from where we were during the “lost decade” and NFIB will be working to keep that progress going.
Of course, none of this happens without your support. Thank you for being a member and helping us put a face on Michigan’s small business owner community!
Let’s do this!
