Small Business Reacts to New Mexico’s Hike in Minimum Wage

SANTA FE (December 20, 2022) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the state and nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, responded to New Mexico’s announced hike in the state’s minimum wage. NFIB State Director Jason Espinoza issued the following statement: “As Main Street struggles to keep its doors open and shifts staffed, government-mandates are pushing small businesses to their breaking point. Our economy has not returned to pre-pandemic levels, as prices continue to skyrocket, and consumers pull back their spending. With a recession on the horizon, escalating the cost of doing business in New Mexico simply could not come at a worse time.”
