September 8, 2025

Jared Weiser will serve as NFIB Ohio State Director

The nation’s leading small-business association, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), today announced Jared Weiser as its new State Director in Ohio. Weiser will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s state advocacy, operations, political engagement, communications, and programming on behalf of NFIB’s over 20,000 members across the state.

“We are very pleased to have Jared Weiser joining our team as State Director,” said Charles Owens, NFIB’s Region Director for the Midwest. “Jared comes to us from the Ohio Credit Union League, where he served for four years as the Director of Legislative Affairs. In his role there, he served as the primary liaison between League members and legislators, tracking, analyzing, and influencing state and federal legislation impacting Ohio’s financial cooperatives. Jared’s experience in government affairs and legislative advocacy and his prior tenure with the NFIB Ohio program has positioned him well to be an effective advocate for our small business members in Ohio.”

Jared also worked for NFIB/Ohio’s workers’ compensation and health insurance programs as the Member Benefits Program Manager from 2013 to 2021, the Member Services Coordinator from 2012 to 2013, and was also a Legislative Assistant Intern for the NFIB/Ohio program.

“NFIB is a powerful advocate for small business, and I’m honored to return to serve as the Ohio State Director,” said Weiser. “I’m continually inspired by Ohio’s small business community, especially their grit, creativity, and commitment to their communities. Their individual stories are what drive me, and I’m excited to be their voice at the Statehouse to ensure Ohio remains a place where small businesses can thrive.”

Weiser is an Ohio native with a bachelors degree in political science and Spanish from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Ohio University. He resides in Powell, Ohio with his wife Rebecca and their three young sons.
