Brad Close discusses economic importance of 20% Small Business Deduction

KABC radio’s widely listened to Mottek on Money show once again invited NFIB President Brad Close to give its Los Angeles-area listening audience an update on NFIB’s No. 1 federal priority: keeping the 20% Small Business Deduction from expiring at the end of the year.

“We are urging Congress to do it soon,” said Close in the six-minute interview. “There’s really no need to wait. This is a provision [in the 2027 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act] that has really helped small business owners create new jobs, create new benefits, buy new machinery, expand their business. It’s something they’ve used and will have a huge impact on the economy going forward if it’s made permanent.”

Without making the deduction permanent, 26 million small businesses are facing a huge tax hike, according to Close. Show host Frank Mottek also interviewed Close in September on the Small Business Deduction.
