Here's What Tuesday's Election Means to Small Businesses in Missouri

As of Wednesday morning, the votes were still being counted, but it appears there will be little change in the makeup of the General Assembly heading into 2025. The overwhelming majority of NFIB Missouri PAC’s 95 endorsed candidates won Tuesday night, ensuring Main Street is strongly represented in Jefferson City.

“Thankfully, Missouri voters threw their support behind champions of small businesses,” NFIB State Director Brad Jones said. “In particular, I know Main Street is tremendously grateful Missourians backed Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe for Governor. As a fellow small business owner, Mike has consistently supported policies and reforms that make it easier for our small and family-owned businesses to do what they do best: create jobs and invest in their communities.

“However, we are disappointed Prop A passed. Not only will Prop A increase the cost of doing business in our state, but will make it harder for employers to tailor the requirements to the specific needs of their workforce. Going forward, we will continue to try and help small businesses navigate compliance with the mandate.”
