Mayoral elections were held in five New York cities

There were few surprises with New York’s November election results. On November 4th, a state legislative race in the Assembly and several mayoral elections took place across New York.

Michael Cashman was elected to replace former Assemblymember Billy Jones in Assembly District 115.

Mayoral elections were held in five New York cities, resulting in new leadership. Zohran Mamdani was elected Mayor of New York City, Sean Ryan (previously representing Senate District 61) was elected Mayor of the City of Buffalo, Sharon Owens was elected Mayor of the City of Syracuse, Dorcey Applyrs was elected Mayor of the City of Albany, and Malik Evans was re-elected Mayor of the City of Rochester.
