NFIB issued the following statement following President Trump’s speech before a Joint Session of Congress.
The U.S. House budget resolution would allow Congress to use the budget reconciliation process to make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent. NFIB designated this as a Key Vote to track lawmakers’ support.

On February 26th, NFIB State Director Andy Markowski testified before the legislature in support of House Bill 5549, which would provide for a full restoration of the credit against the state’s Pass-through Entity Tax (PET).
The pace of action in Montpelier started to pick up in February, with lawmakers introducing hundreds of new bills and committees starting discussions on some of the major issues facing the state. Governor Phil Scott also continued his push to roll back expensive energy mandates, reform school funding, and (hopefully) rein in property tax increases.
