NFIB’s Amanda Fisher issues statement on the 2026 session
As a new legislative session begins, NFIB is encouraged by the legislative agenda laid out by the House Republican majority. Many of the issues Speaker Hall specifically mentioned, including the elimination of the personal property tax, property tax reform, controlling healthcare costs, regulatory reform, and reining in state spending, are all priorities for small business owners.
“Small businesses continue to be grateful for all of the work done last year, especially in making the earned sick time law more workable for small businesses,” said NFIB Michigan State Director Amanda Fisher. “We are eager to work with the legislature this year to make it easier and more affordable for small business owners in Michigan to grow their businesses, create more jobs, and invest in their communities.”
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
