On May 6, NFIB members and allied business owners from across New York traveled to Albany to advocate for legislation that would exclude swipe fees on tax and gratuities.

NFIB and small business organizations are meeting in Albany on May 6 to advocate for the elimination of credit card swipe fees on sales tax and gratuities. Legislators need to hear directly from the small business owners who are hit with these fees to fully understand how much they need this relief.

Coalition of trade associations supports bill to exclude sales tax and gratuities from card swipe fees, saving consumers, employees, and merchants $930 million annually.
The measure would provide much-needed relief to small businesses struggling with rising credit and debit card processing fees.
