NFIB is partnering with the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) to create workforce training programs to provide trained and credentialed employees for your business.

The programs will be coordinated through the ACCS Innovation Center, a division of the ACCS, which is creating custom training programs in partnership with Alabama business and industry.

In January, the first ACCS Credential launched the Skills for Success Course in South Baldwin County for Food and Beverage Service workers. 100 percent of the participants were hired.

The ACCS will be releasing the first courses in the next few months that will be extremely beneficial to small and large businesses throughout the state. Short-term credentials include CDL Classes A and B, Heavy Equipment Operator, Retail Butcher, Meat Cutter, Facilities Maintenance Technician, Accommodations and Recreational Services, Water/Wastewater Technician, and Fiber Optics Technician.

With your input, future courses will be developed to address the job needs of Alabama businesses.

The programs are funded through the state’s Education Trust Fund Budget, and the training is provided at no cost for participants or companies. Courses are available to upskill current employees or train new individuals for job openings.

Participants will receive rapid training. Employers who register with the ACCS will be notified when training is offered in your area. ACCS will provide information to employers when potential employees have received their Credential Certificate.
