Small Business Owners in Seven Counties May Apply for Disaster Relief

Small Business Owners in Seven Counties May Apply for Disaster Relief

May 29, 2026

Assistance is available for those affected by the April 20 wildfires in South Georgia

Small business owners affected by the April 20 wildfires in South Georgia can now apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The assistance is available to businesses in Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Pierce, Ware, and Wayne counties.

The loans can help businesses repair or replace damaged buildings, equipment, inventory, and other property. Small businesses may also qualify for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) to help cover operating expenses and other financial obligations if the wildfires caused a loss of revenue.

To help applicants through the process, the SBA has opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Nahunta. SBA representatives are available to answer questions, explain available programs, and assist with applications:

     Disaster Loan Outreach Center

Tax Assessors’ Office Space (inside courthouse)
     234 Brantley Street, Suite 500
     Nahunta, GA 31553

Office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The outreach center is expected to remain open until June 18.

The deadline to apply for physical damage disaster loans is July 27. The deadline to apply for economic injury loans is March 1, 2027.

Businesses and residents can apply online through the SBA’s Electronic Loan Application portal at
