Small Businesses Praise Swift Action on Striking Retail Delivery Fee

The removal will save businesses and consumers

NFIB Indiana State Director Natalie Robinson applauds Representative Pressel for authoring an amendment of HB 1461 to strike the retail delivery fee provision on the road funding bill.

“Eliminating the retail delivery fee provision is a major win for Indiana’s small businesses,” said Natalie Robinson, NFIB Indiana State Director. “Small business owners are working hard to strengthen and grow their businesses, and this legislation removes a financial barrier they cannot afford. We thank Rep. Pressel for his work on this issue and protecting Main Street.”

Robinson recently testified on HB 1461 opposing the provision establishing a retail delivery fee.

This win follows an amendment of HB 1223, authored by Representative Karickhoff that allows some businesses to be excluded from being charged an assessment fee for Tourism Improvement District projects. We appreciate Rep. Karickhoff’s efforts to improve this bill and address the challenges faced by small businesses.
