Hudak owns Hudak & Company, a small business accounting services firm in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. In addition to running his business, Hudak is a longtime NFIB member and activist, standing up for small businesses at the state and federal level on issues like tax reform, IRS treatment of Main Street firms, and healthcare reform. In 2016 and 2023, he testified before the U.S. Congress to advocate for the interests of small business owners and their employees. He also serves on our PA Leadership Council. Hudak flew to Washington earlier this month to testify before the U.S. House Committee on Small Business and spoke about the upcoming expiration of the Small Business Deduction (199A) included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, concerns with the Fiscal Year 2024 budget request, and concerns about the IRS enforcement expansion plans. In the latest Rundown, Hudak was interviewed by host Adam Temple to discuss his experience dealing with the IRS. Small businesses are the low-hanging fruit when the IRS hires more staff and increases its enforcement activities. That’s why legislation in Congress that seeks to direct the IRS to prioritize serving taxpayers rather than overwhelmingly focusing on expanded enforcement is crucial for small businesses.
