Florida Small Business Owner Featured on NFIB’s Podcast

June 30, 2025

Listen to NFIB member April Meier on the latest episode

NFIB member and Florida small business owner April Meier joined NFIB’s podcast, the Small Business Rundown, to discuss her recent trip to Washington, D.C. for NFIB’s annual Fly-In event on Capitol Hill. Meier owns Positively Scrumptious, a holistic pet store in Crestview, Florida.

Meier explains how the 20% Small Business Deduction has positively impacted her business by allowing her to hire additional employees and purchase a freezer to expand their selections for their customers.

“We’ve also done a lot of things in our local community such as during Hurricane Michael we were able to put about 8,000lbs of food down to locations that you know, weren’t getting any help. We also sent stuff to people in the Carolinas from Hurricane Helene and within our community, we also do provide food to our Animal Services and our Police Department at my cost. Without this tax deduction, we probably would not be able to do any of those things,” she explained.
