NFIB worked hard during the Oklahoma legislative session to protect small business during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Lawsuit Protections due to COVID-19
Supported legislation that provides civil liability protection for businesses safely reopening while acting in accordance with government guidance or those operating as a government-directed essential business during the state of emergency.
Products liability protections
NFIB also supported legislation that provides lawsuit protections for small businesses that manufacture or donate products that help curb or prevent COVID-19
Energy Choice
Supported a new law that prohibits local governments from adopting ordinances that discriminate against utility providers based upon their energy source. Removing an affordable energy source would negatively impact small businesses, likely resulting in an increase in utility costs.
Minimum Wage
Stopped legislation that mandated a new, higher state minimum wage on employers.
