Rule requiring phone replacement will grandfather existing phones
After more than six years, NFIB efforts succeeded in changing a little-known Public Service Commission rule that would have required many small businesses to replace their phone systems by the end of this year. Before the NFIB changes, the rule would have required any business with more than 7000 square feet of space, and a multi-line phone system, to replace their phones by December 31, 2019 – even if the phones were in good working order and still being used. The NFIB changes are now Public Act 30 of 2019.
