First Video Features Summer Camp Owner Worried About Washington’s Proposed Tax Increases
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 21, 2021) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today released the first of a new video series featuring small business owners explaining how Washington’s proposed tax increases would hurt their ability to operate.
The video series “In Their Own Words” will feature small business owners from around the country and is a part of the NFIB’s Small Business Survival campaign, a coordinated advocacy effort that highlights why tax increases would be harmful to America’s small businesses.
The first video in the series features Allen McBride, a small business owner who operates a summer camp in Alabama. Alan is concerned about the proposed tax increase for his small business, which files as a c-corporation. For the smallest c-corporations like his – those with taxable income less than $50,000 – the Biden Administration’s proposal would deliver a staggering 87% tax increase relative to their 2017 tax rate.
