SALEM, Ore. (Oct. 19, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Alek Skarlatos for election today to represent Oregon’s 4th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.
“Alek Skarlatos has a compelling personal story and impeccable character,” said Anthony Smith, NFIB’s Oregon State Director. “He understands the issues impacting our members, especially during these difficult times. We believe he will be a strong advocate of Oregon’s small businesses in Congress, supporting efforts to cut back on regulations and make small business tax relief permanent. On behalf of small businesses in Oregon’s 4th Congressional District, we are proud to endorse Alek Skarlatos for election to Congress.”
Alek Skarlatos is a decorated United States Army veteran. Skarlatos completed a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan in 2015. He, along with four others, apprehended an armed terrorist on a train travelling from Amsterdam to Paris in August 2015, earning him several domestic and international awards and medals. Skarlatos resides in Roseburg, Oregon.

Alek Skarlatos’ endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues.
